This painting is inspired by my years of collecting mudmen figures—each one distinct in size, character, and silent story. At the heart of the composition stands the Keeper of Whispers, a figure who, in my imagination, holds the secrets and memories of all the others.
The mudmen’s varied expressions and postures reflect the diversity of human experience, while their earthy forms connect them to the land and traditions from which they come. Through color, texture, and arrangement, I aim to capture the quiet conversations and hidden tales that seem to pass between them.
This work is a tribute to the beauty of individuality, the power of community, and the enduring mystery of the stories we carry and share.
in the back there are a couple of roof tile figure that i was fortunate to come across. I love collecting things oriental, maybe my other life!
