Texas Porcelain Teacher's Meeting in Brownwood, Texas

Large 14" plate painted by artist Celeste McCall of Dallas, Texas
This was our Texas Teachers Meet for Sept. 2011.- Brownwood, Texas
Our guest artist/ teacher was Celeste McCall from the Dallas area to teach roses. An oval vase was selected for the painting, with Celeste explaining design principles, color theory, and demonstrating a particular technique and construction of the roses.
We painted for three days and finished with a wide variety of painting styles and color combinations.
Each meeting is in a different location and the guest artist/teachers are selected from our own membership.

We had a great painting room right at the Hampton Inn, so we did not even have to leave until we were ready to eat out!!! Our program coordinator, Sylvia Herring, arranged for Newspaper coverage and some special visits from Stephen Haynes, Mayor of Brownwood and Ann Smith, Head of the Art Dept. at Howard Payne University.

The Porcelain Teachers of Texas is a great group of people and we always have a lot of fun and laughs along with some serious painting.
We do have just under 100 teachers in the organization, many with international affiliations, who's goal is:
"To create a better understanding among teachers and work together unselfishly for the improvement and love of china painting, and above all, to lend a helping hand to deserving young teachers".

If anyone is interested in finding out more about porcelain painting, we welcome your call for information on a club or an instructor near you, so please contact me or go to www.texasporcelainartclubs.com/
