Christmas Tea cup Series #1 & #2 progression
I think I am finished with this Christmas Tea Cup Series #1 .
1. I did darken the back shape with a light wash of blue over the yellow brown that was there. This change it to a dark brown green. I like that much better.
2. I finished the cloth on the table and strenghtened the reflections on the saucer. This was a very important part of the painting.
3. I glazed a slight green/ blue over the right and left side of the cup.
4. darkened the cast shadow on the left side of the saucer, and darkened the bottom of the cast shadow of the pear.
5. the green apple has been shaded slightly to round off the form. but I will add a strong high light to it. then sign it.

This is #2 of the series.
Photo
I have started. as you can see the cup is back lit and the shadow of the cup is more in shadow that the other painting. also the inside of the cup is darker (or in more shadow) with a tiny sliver of light at the left. I have washed the colors that I see in the shadow onto the cup but I will wait until it gets dry to darken. Otherwise it will get muddy and ugly. Although it will not be as dark as in the photo. all other shapes are drawn in and ready. I will be finishing the details on the cup also before moving on to the other shapes.

until later,
Happy Painting..........
