Christmas Tea Cup Series #2- progression

I have blocked in the tea cup and saucer, darkened the form shadow but not quit enough yet.   I had to get a dark in the background but still not dark enough, either.  I have to sneak up on them!!!!!

Here I have painted my green apple and the cast shadows on the table cloth in the back ground.

I have pretty much have one of  the darkest dark on there and the lightest light and some mids.

The shadow on the bottom of the saucer will have to get darker in time. and the refection of the candy design which is reflected onto the mid part of the shadow side of the cup will have to be developed ever so slightly.

All of you who picked this one, have a good eye for composition.

notice that the brightest, more intense color (orange/red) nearest the lightest part of the cloth and the intese yellow green of the apple is where your eye goes first.

The pears will be next.

next day.................I did block in the pears  but of course they are floating until I get something dark under them.

until next time,

Happy painting.....
